Rascal Fair Farm

Friends in Fiber (FIF) evolved from a subgroup of The Woodland Spinner and Weaver Guild members (Damacus, Pennsylvania).  Several of us lived so close to each other that we naturally started hanging out together. Over time, a few neighbors and shepherdess friends joined in the craziness; my husband now refers to us as the FIENDS in Fibers.

Many moons ago, Sasha and I posed for this mid-winter photo. Who would have thought that a few dairy goats would lead us down the trail to sheep, spinning wheels and weaving.  It's all the goats fault!

We have been waiting for a picture of crochet/spinner member - Terri.  It just doesn't get better than this!

Cathy has been with us from day one.  Since then,  she continues to make us crocheters jealous with her knitting talent!  One day, perhaps, some of us will pick up knitting needles.

Melissa (seated center) is the owner of Hawthorne Manor Farm.  Her shepherdess duties keep her real busy.  When she can sneak away, Mel and her spinning wheel "Sherwood" find their way to us.  Surrounding Mel are our 4H Kaleidoscope kids attired in "Shaun the Sheep" costumes.  Our 4H Christmas party this year included the Shaun theSheep Movie and costume contest.  Mel had the difficult task of judging!

First place went to Ms. Rohan(bottom left) for her detailed protrayal of Blitzer.  Love those ears!

Emma is Friends in Fiber youngest member.  Needle felting is Emma passion; her animal creations are stunning.  Recently, we heard that Santa delivered a brand new spinning wheel.  We look forward to Emma joining the ranks of us spinners!

PS.  Emma and her rabbit, Chocolate, took Best in Variety at the 2016 Pennsylvania Farm Show.  Congrats!

We are a small farm located in the Endless Mountains region (Thompson) of Pennsylvania.  Our farm operates on the principles of sustainability and self-sufficiency.
